Im on holidays and im just saying hi….!!!!!!!!!

I have learnt that you can’t post surnames, your address and other private information. I also learnt how to use learner blogs and how to comment on other people’s blogs. Doing learner blogs has kind of been like a journal where I write stuff that has happened.

 What would you say to other year 8’s about the possibility of blogging in English next year?

To be honest I don’t really enjoy doing blogs but I would tell them to make the most of doing them. I would tell them to put any poems or work that they liked on their blogs and to put pictures of any celebs they like to make it more interesting.

Some people say “blogging is just a different way of learning”. What do you say to the possibility of using blogs to learn?

I say that I don’t really find that it makes you learn at all. How does it make you learn? I think all that you gain from it is writing practise. I wouldn’t like to do blogs next year because I think they are a waste when we could be learning other things. Maybe like once every couple of months but otherwise I don’t like doing them.

What qualities do they have? They are kind, patient, empathetic and have a good sense of humor.

What does it mean to be a good learner? To be a good learner is good because that is what we go to school for. It means we learn more for our future.

What are qualities of good students?A good learner is someone who listens in class and doesn’t muck around. They pay the teacher and the students the respect they deserve when they are speaking. The try their hardest to complete they homework and projects. 

What expectations do you have of this class? My expectations for this class are for them to listen to the teacher and for them to be quieter when the class is trying to work.

What expectations do you have of me as your teacher? I expect you to give us the same respect as we try to give to you. I would like for you to try to really listen to us when we are telling you something of importance.

What does it mean to have a good learning environment? It means a good classroom where you can work to the best of your ability. So where ever is best for you, like you might work best with music or something.

What does it mean to be a producer of information versus a consumer of information? A producer of information is some one who sends out the information to people whereas the consumer is the person who listens or reads the information.

 Well I was wrong. I thought our class would never do blogs again but here I am.

Now since I haven’t written for like two months I’m just going to fill you guys in with what has been happening.

Well after the semester break we had eight alive. I was sick for the first two days so I missed out on those days but for when I was there we did lots of things. On Wednesday we did ballroom dancing and a mural. It was kind of like finger painting but we don’t know what the final product is going to be. On Thursday we went rock-climbing and did journal writing and wrote about what we had done over the past few days. On Friday we made a environment park which was really fun to do. From the eight alive experience I learnt alot about how looking after the environment is important for our future. The best thing was rockcliming and the worst was the reflection part of it.

Another thing we did was watch a play on “Girls talk”. It was really funny and I enjoyed alot. 

I finished reading “Alex” and i enjoyed it. I’m not really looking forward to the assignment because hey, who like projects? Well, not me but what can you do! I dont think I’m going to read the rest of the series but if I come across the books I might.

Well that has been what has been happening and I’ll talk to you soon.
